This week we received an urgent request for a winch and crane system for the purpose of lowering and raising a sediment sampler from bridges. The client, Golder Associates was in need of a custom machine to be designed, constructed and delivered within three days. A few hours after receiving the request, the EnerTek team were selecting materials and assembling them in the workshop. Three days later the crane was completed.
The crane has both an electric and manual winch with three sets of gears. It is capable of raising and lowering a 100 kg weight a distance of over 40 meters. It can measure the length of cable that has been let out, as well as the angle of the cable relative to the arm of the crane, which is an important measurement for sediment sampling. We are happy to have Golder as a client and look forward to interesting and custom projects in the future. The more challenging the better.
